4:20 pm This year, the Texas Governor’s race promises to be a tough battle as Democratic challenger Gina Hinojosa takes on incumbent Republican Greg Abbot who wants to win a record fourth term. Hinojosa was born in McAllen to Democratic politician Gilbert Hinojosa and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. She’s a civil rights lawyer and has served five terms as the state representative for Texas's 49th House district. Gina joins us today to talk about her campaign.

5:20 pm The collapse of a mountain top glacier holding back a lake at the Tibetan border with Nepal has led to catastrophicdevastation in the valley below, as the torment of water cascaded through the structures and villages below, wiping out everything in its path. Over 600 people are estimated to have been killed and over 3,000 are missing, including 500foreigners, many of whom were Indians – including 31 from America - doing the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash. The Nepalese community in Houston met yesterday to see what they could do to help with rescue and rendering aid. We are joined today by spokesmen Dr. Vishnu Nepal and Drona Gautam to learn about the plans being made to help.
