I separate the verified facts from the unproven claims surrounding the Russian Shahed/Geran-family drone that crossed from Ukraine into Moldova, briefly entered Romanian airspace, and ultimately crashed near Mihăileni Vechi. Moldova closed its airspace, delaying Zelensky’s departure and six other flights, while Romanian NATO surveillance and Spanish F-18s monitored the incursion. What remains unestablished is whether Zelensky’s aircraft was specifically targeted or how close the drone came to it.
