AI Skills let you save the instructions for work you do regularly, then reuse them in ChatGPT, Codex or Claude. A quarterly report, a client update or a writing check can follow the same process each time, with the right examples and supporting files already attached.

I walk through a real SKILL.md file, show what belongs in the instructions, and explain when to add references, visual assets or scripts. You'll see how a skill fits alongside prompts, Projects and other saved context, how to find existing skills, and how to choose a useful first task.

You can build that first skill by talking through the job with your AI. Give it a specific task, explain what a good result looks like, and test the finished instructions on real examples. Start with one repeatable job and improve the skill as you use it.
