AI Influencers and Half-Truths

There's a growing wave of YouTube videos promising that AI can do the work for you: one prompt, walk away, come back to a finished result. In this episode, Anton Kraly explains why a lot of that content isn't telling you the whole story.

The episode was sparked by professional video editor Vlad Sateev, whose recent videos break down popular "AI edits your video for you" tutorials. He points to on-screen timers that skip large chunks of time and results that were likely fixed by hand or through a lot of back-and-forth with AI. Anton had heard the same thing from his own team: these workflows don't perform the way the tutorials show.

Anton also explains why these videos get so many views. Beginners can't tell what the work really involves, the algorithm rewards big claims, and many creators earn affiliate commissions when viewers sign up for the tools they promote. He connects this to the "free Shopify store" scam he covered a few weeks ago and shows how the same pattern is now appearing in AI-for-e-commerce content.
