Healing Out Loud

Healing Out Loud

What does it look like to heal without hiding the factthat you’re still healing?

In this episode of Well Life Wednesday, hosts IrisHooper, LCAS-A and Cristy Hooper, LCMHCS have an honest conversationabout Healing Out Loud—letting go of shame, becoming comfortable askingfor help, acknowledging your growth, and giving yourself permission to be awork in progress.

Healing out loud does not mean telling everyoneeverything. It means refusing to treat therapy, recovery, boundaries, grief, emotional growth, or asking for support as something you should be ashamed of.

In this episode,we discuss:

• What “healing out loud” really means
• Why people often hide their struggles
• Fear of judgment and stigma surrounding mental health and recovery
• The difference between healthy vulnerability and oversharing
• Breaking generational patterns of silence
• Healing and honesty in addiction recovery
• Why isolation can make difficult seasons harder
• Setting boundaries while maintaining accountability
• How healing can change relationships
• Recognizing survival behaviors that may no longer serve you
• Celebrating your progress without minimizing how far you’ve come
• Giving yourself permission to say, “I’m still working through this”

Sometimes healing sounds like:

“I need help.”
“That hurt me.”
“I’m not okay today.”
“I need a boundary.”
“I was wrong.”
“I’m proud of my progress.”
“I’m still healing.”

You don’t have to heal perfectly.
You don’t have to heal quickly.
And you don’t have to heal alone.
