Don’t Judge by Appearances | What Jesus Actually Said About Judgment

What if the conclusion you’re absolutely certain about is based on something you haven’t seen clearly? In John 7:14–24, people looked directly at Jesus and still reached the wrong conclusions about Him. They questioned His education, His authority, His motives, His doctrine, and even accused Him of being demonized.Jesus’ response was simple: “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”In this verse-by-verse sermon, Pastor Jon Groves examines what Jesus teaches us about truth, biblical discernment, obedience, doctrine, motives, spiritual warfare, and our tendency to make final judgments from incomplete information.Sometimes we judge truth by whether we like the person saying it. Sometimes we ask God for direction while secretly reserving the right to reject His answer. Sometimes we use Scripture to examine everyone except ourselves. Sometimes we build entire convictions from one verse while ignoring the full counsel of God.And sometimes we think we already know who Jesus is without ever looking closely for ourselves. Before you make the call, look again.📖 SCRIPTURE: John 7:14–24Honor Church is a Bible-preaching church serving Lake Mary and the north Orlando area.
