Canadian Podcaster Online Magazine - PodSummit 2026, Podcast Pitchfest, Falling Back into Your Podcast for Fall - October 2026

Episode 39 - Canadian Podcaster Online Magazine - PodSummit 2026, Podcast Pitchfest, Falling Back into Your Podcast for Fall - October 2026

October brings a new edition of the Canadian Podcaster Online Magazine, along with seasonal changes, podcasting opportunities, and encouragement for creators across Canada. The episode also marks a personal milestone as Dave celebrates 33 years of marriage with Jennifer and reflects on how much life, technology, and podcasting have changed since 1993.

Supporting Canadian Creators

The magazine exists to showcase Canadian podcasters and the people who support the podcasting community. Dave invites Canadian podcast creators, editors, website designers, service providers, tool developers, and writers to contribute to upcoming editions.

Participation remains free. Canadian podcasters can submit a podcast link, share their location, or suggest an article idea for the November or December issues. The goal involves building a community publication that reflects the voices and experience of Canadian creators.

The October edition also includes a reminder about the companion update released on the 15th of the month. That edition features clips from podcasters included in the magazine. Listeners can help by sharing the magazine with anyone featured in the issue.

PodSummit 2026 and Podcast Pitchfest

PodSummit takes place in Calgary during October. Dave shares encouragement for anyone attending, especially podcasters who feel nervous about meeting new people. He recommends connecting with at least five people, bringing something to write with, and carrying podcast business cards, stickers, or other promotional materials.

The episode also highlights a podcast pitch event organized with support from Katie of Pod the North. Participants can present their podcast idea, with the winner receiving funds to support the development or launch of their show. Listeners can learn more through PodSummit and Pod the North.

Falling Back Into Your Podcast

Fall offers podcasters a natural opportunity to reconnect with their publishing routine. Dave encourages creators to choose meaningful milestones, record them in a calendar, and celebrate when they reach them. Ten episodes, 100 listens, or one year of publishing can each represent a significant achievement.

A podcast grows through consistent effort and audience support. Every milestone reflects the relationship between the creator and the people who continue to listen.

Celebrate your podcast milestones and invite other Canadian creators into the conversation. Your show deserves recognition, and your voice can help strengthen the wider podcasting community.
