Trump Calls for a New President in Ukraine

BREAKING NEWS: TRUMP: UKRAINE NEEDS NEW PRESIDENT. I examine Donald Trump’s statement that Ukraine should get “a new president” after Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the reported U.S.-Russia diesel arrangement as a weak decision. The immediate stakes are not merely political: Kyiv says it is prepared to stop striking Russian oil refineries if Moscow stops attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure, while Russian missile and drone attacks continue to damage Ukraine’s power network.

I also assess reports that U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner pressed Kyiv to halt refinery strikes, including an Axios-sourced allegation of possible intelligence-sharing restrictions that the U.S. side denied. Meanwhile, Kremlin accounts said Vladimir Putin rejected renewed peace talks and would fight until Russia’s goals are achieved. I look at Patriot interceptor needs, European support, Slovakia’s reported restoration of military ties with Russia, sanctions relief, and whether this approach reduces the war—or lowers Moscow’s cost of continuing it.
