Can Christians Vote for the Lesser of Two Evils?

With the 2026 midterm elections just one day away, Christians face a difficult question: Can you vote for a candidate whose beliefs and actions contradict your biblical convictions?

In this episode of The Magistrate, Josh Howard and James Baird confront the moral dilemma of voting for the "lesser of two evils." Is voting for an imperfect candidate a compromise of Christian principles, or can it be a legitimate way to pursue justice, restrain evil, and love our neighbors?

Drawing from Scripture, including Romans 13, Josh and James examine the Christian's responsibility in the political sphere and challenge believers to think biblically rather than emotionally about elections.

Topics include:
  • Is voting a Christian duty?
  • Does voting for a candidate mean endorsing their sins?
  • Is choosing the lesser of two evils morally defensible?
  • What about third-party candidates or refusing to vote?
  • Can Christians pursue political good without compromising biblical convictions?
  • Why is political accelerationism a dangerous approach?
The question isn't whether a candidate is perfect. It's whether Christians can make imperfect political choices while remaining faithful to Christ.

Join Josh and James for a timely discussion on Christian conscience, political responsibility, and the biblical principles that should guide our decisions at the ballot box.
