Why the Burrow Was BURNED Down in the Half-Blood Prince - Harry Potter Theory

Why the Burrow Was BURNED Down in the Half-Blood Prince - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing the Weasley's and their family home - The Burrow."It looked as though it had once been a large stone pigpen, but extra rooms had been added here and there until it was several stories high and so crooked it looked as though it were held up by magic (which, Harry reminded himself, it probably was). Four or five chimneys were perched on top of the red roof. A lopsided sign stuck in the ground near the entrance read, THE BURROW. Around the front door lay a jumble of rubber boots and a very rusty cauldron. Several fat brown chickens were pecking their way around the yard."The Burrow was located on the outskirts of Ottery St Catchpole in Devon, England, and served as the home of every Weasley family member at one point or another. To Ron, Ginny, Fred, George, Charlie, Molly, Arthur, Bill, Percy and- even Harry, The Burrow was home. The warm welcoming environment of the Burrow always made it seem like the perfect safe haven for Harry and gang- with the Burrow eventually going on to become the Order of the Phoenix Headquarters in 1997.But in the Half-Blood Prince FILM, the idealistic family home that is the Burrow met its tragic end. Death Eaters show up unannounced to the Weasley family home and, amidst the chaos, Bellatrix Lestrange sets the house ablaze- resulting in the burning of the Burrow. Their home was lost. Dumbledore's Letter to Grindelwald That Nearly DESTROYED the World - Harry Potter Explained

Dumbledore's Letter to Grindelwald That Nearly DESTROYED the World - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're discussing Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald, and their plan to rule over the muggle world. With uncertainty regarding future releases of Fantastic Beasts films, it's entirely possible that we won't get to witness a certain side of Dumbledore - a glimpse in to his past that outlines his (at one time) questionable morality, his plan for establishing wizarding dominance, and his relationship with dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. If you don't know Dumbledore's backstory, and you've only seen the Harry Potter films, then let me summarize it quickly: Dumbledore wasn't always good. Like everyone else, the wise all-knowing Hogwarts headmaster also had to face some demons before discovering who he truly was. As a young man, Dumbledore showed a lot of promise. He was an extremely innately talented wizard, and while studying at Hogwarts his professors claimed he could do things with a wand that they had never seen before. #harrypotter Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How Did Harry Return from DEATH? - Harry Potter Explained

How Did Harry Return from DEATH? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today I'll be discussing HOW Harry RETURNED from Limbo. In case you had forgotten, Harry actually ends up DYING at one point after an encounter with Voldemort in the forbidden forest:"Harry looked back into the red eyes, and wanted it to happen now, quickly, while he could still stand, before he lost control, before he betrayed fear-- He saw the mouth move and a flash of green light, and everything was gone."And the next thing we know, Harry is beginning to regain consciousness- only- he's not in the Forbidden Forest anymore. In fact, entirely disoriented, he didn't know WHERE he was."He lay in a bright mist, though it was not like mist he had ever experienced before. His surroundings were not hidden by cloudy vapour; rather the cloudy vapour had not yet formed into surroundings. The floor on which he lay seemed to be white, neither warm nor cold, but simply there, a flat, blank something on which to be."His environment was completely surreal, and Harry had lost all of his bearings. In fact, he had no idea if what he was experiencing was real, or just a figment of his imagination. "Tell me one last thing. Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"To Which Dumbledore replies:"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?"Harry, after a minor adjustment to his surroundings, also noticed that the mist had begun to form in the shape of Kings Cross Station, where he first departed to Hogwarts so many years ago. But Harry wasn't truly at Kings Cross, so- where was he? As it turns out, he was in limbo.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Did Remus Believe that Sirius Black was GUILTY? - Harry Potter Theory

Did Remus Believe that Sirius Black was GUILTY? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. Specifically, we'll be addressing why Remus never even seemed to bat an eyelid at Sirius's conviction. Yes, he was upset about everything that happened, but as far as Sirius's innocence is concerned, you would have thought that Remus- one of his best friends, would have tried harder to uncover the truth.Remus Lupin and Sirius Black met at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1970s- 1971 to be exact, and it was here that they also formed friendships with James Potter and Peter Pettigrew. Before the sorting ceremony even happened, the 4 boys hit it off, and when they were eventually sorted in to the same house, Gryffindor, they knew that they were destined to be friends. Though the boys got on with many of their other classmates, this particular group of 4 boys had a truly special bond, and they eventually came up with a name for their group - they were 'The Marauders'. They were all huge troublemakers- hellbent on breaking rules and causing mischief, and it was their common interests that helped to foster the deep friendships that these 4 boys would form. Their group existed for the duration of the time that they spent at Hogwarts, and after graduating they even all went on to join The Order of the Phoenix - a secret society founded by Dumbledore that opposed Lord Voldemort. The friendship that the 4 boys shared ran deep, really deep, so who would have thought that it would all fall to pieces 3 years after their graduation. In 1981 Peter Pettigrew defected from the Order of the Phoenix and joined the Death Eaters. Shortly thereafter, he revealed the location of the Potter Cottage to Voldemort- effectively signing the Potter family's death warrants.Sirius Black, after discovering what Peter had done, went out to find Pettigrew and seek justice- but it was here that Sirius would condemn himself to Azkaban. Knowing that Sirius might come for him, Peter was able to effectively frame Sirius for the murder of 12 muggles, as well as himself. From this day onward, Sirius's name and reputation was tarnished. Not only did people think he was a crazed wizard who had murdered 12 muggles, but they also thought he exposed the Potter's.And that should be expected, because most of these people didn't know Sirius personally. But in a world where everyone is against you, you should always be able to turn to your lifelong friends for support. But for Sirius, the only remaining Marauder kicking around, Remus Lupin, wanted nothing to do with him. Why?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Did Dumbledore Know Lucius Was a DEATH EATER in Chamber of Secrets? - Harry Potter Theory

Did Dumbledore Know Lucius Was a DEATH EATER in Chamber of Secrets? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're discussing Albus Dumbledore and the patriarch of the Malfoy clan - Lucius. More specifically, we're going to be addressing why Dumbledore FAILED to recognize Lucius Malfoy's Death Eater status. If we look at the actions and behaviours of Lucius Malfoy in the books and films, it's almost impossible to ignore the red flags. He was highly intolerant of muggles / muggle-borns, he was a huge advocate for blood purity, and he was EXTREMELY outspoken. And what do the Death Eaters advocate? Why, all of these same things, of course. Death Eaters were the worst kinds of dark witches and wizards - followers of Lord Voldemort who obeyed his bidding in an effort to 'cleanse' the wizarding world of anyone or anything that wasn't deemed 'pure'. Lucius also only NARROWLY avoided imprisonment following the FIRST wizarding war- dodging that bullet by claiming that he had been acting under the Imperius Curse. To NOT be able to recognize that Lucius Malfoy was a bad egg, to me, seems impossible. So how did arguably the wisest wizard in Harry Potter MISS that Lucius was a Death Eater? Or..Did he?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Who OWNS the Hogwarts House Elves? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Hogwarts and House-Elves. More specifically, we're going to be tackling the question of WHO owns the House Elves located at Hogwarts.Winky belonged to the Crouch Family. Dobby used to belong to the Malfoy family.Kreacher belongs to the Black family. But who owned all of the House Elves at Hogwarts- where, supposedly- the largest concentration of House-Elves existed- at least, according to Nearly Headless Nick.'There are house-elves here?' [Hermione] said, staring, horror-struck, at Nearly Headless Nick. 'Here at Hogwarts?''Certainly,' said Nearly Headless Nick, looking surprised at her reaction. 'The largest number in any dwelling in Britain, I believe. Over a hundred.'If the UK's finest wizarding institution enslaves the largest number of house-elves, then who puts them to work? Who OWNS them?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How Did Draco Malfoy Know About HELICOPTERS? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're going to be discussing Draco Malfoy AND...Helicopters?This video was inspired by a quote from Draco in chapter 9 of the Philosopher's Stone where he claims to have KNOWLEDGE of the muggle invention- despite most of the wizarding world's obliviousness to what goes on in muggle society. Here we see Draco Malfoy boasting about escaping from helicopters:"He [Malfoy] complained loudly about first years never getting on the house Quidditch teams and told long, boastful stories that always seemed to end with him narrowly escaping Muggles in helicopters."So..What does this mean? How Voldemort Rebuilt His Body (3 Stages) - Harry Potter Explained

How Voldemort Rebuilt His Body (3 Stages) - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing how Voldemort was able to get his body back after its destruction. As we move through the course of the films/books, we see Voldemort's physical form transition from something requiring a host (i.e his possession of quirrell) in the first film, to some semblance of an independent physical form in the fourth. He basically goes from ghost-like whisp to creepy baby that Wormtail has to carry around. And while his body was weak, it was a body nonetheless- even capable of wielding a wand and casting a few spells. The answer to this question is actually a lot simpler than you may have thought- Voldemort's new physical form can be attributed to the use of 'The 'Rudimentary Body Potion' - a potion that Voldemort invented himself. The 'Rudimentary Body Potion' was created from two ingredients: Unicorn's blood, and Nagini's venom. Wormtail was able to source both ingredients and produce this potion for the Dark Lord under his instruction. The potion, though effective at providing Voldemort with a physical form, was not powerful enough to restore him to his former glory, which meant that he did not have the level of power that he was previously accustomed to. So while the body was not much - it was still a body, and it would serve him well until he was able to garner the ingredients for a true return.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

MUGGLES in the Leaky Cauldron..? - Harry Potter Theory

MUGGLES in the Leaky Cauldron..? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're discussing the LEAKY CAULDRON - a famous wizarding pub and inn that serves as a gateway between the muggle and magical worlds. More specifically, we're going to be discussing WHETHER OR NOT Muggles can enter this magical pub, as there seems to be conflicting information floating around. Now, provided that the famous wizarding pub is a GATEWAY between both worlds, it should go without saying that it has TWO entrances- one in Diagon Alley, and another on the Muggle street of Charing Cross Road in London's West End.However, it's also worth noting that the Leaky Cauldron (built in the early 1500s) existed long before Charing Cross Road had ever even been conceived- existing far in advance of the Muggle street. In fact, the Leaky Cauldron was created TWO CENTURIES before the imposition of the International Statute of Secrecy- which meant that it had always been VISIBLE to Muggle eyes."While the pub was, from the first, a place for witches and wizards to congregate - whether Londoners or out-of-towners up for the day to shop for the latest magical ingredients or devices - Muggles were not turned away or made to feel unwelcome, even though some of the conversations, not to mention pets, caused many an unwary drinker to leave without finishing his mead."It's now hard to imagine that a fully-fledged wizarding pub / HUB could be allowed to exist with direct access from a Muggle street- but those were different times. It's even HARDER to imagine if we consider that the persecution of witches / wizards was widespread in Britain only a few centuries earlier. But in the present day- what's the deal with the Leaky Cauldron? If it exists on a muggle street, how could it NOT be accessible?
