Why Harry DIDN'T Have His Mother's Eyes - Harry Potter Explained
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing one of the biggest oversights in the history of cinema- Harry's eyes. More specifically, we're going to be unpacking WHY on earth Harry's eyes looked NOTHING like his mothers despite being it reinforced time and time again that they resembled hers entirely. As a matter of fact, Harry's eyes are mentioned a whopping 20 times across all of the books, with 9 of these instances making some sort of comparison to his mother, Lily. The list of characters known to have remarked on Harry's eyes includes (but is not limited to)the likes of Hagrid, Ollivander, Dumbledore, Mrs.Weasley, Rita Skeeter, Elphias Doge, Slughorn and more. Slughorn even discussed Harry's eyes in relation to Lily's on more than one occasion!Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Harry's SECRET Connection to Dementors - Harry Potter Theory
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing Harry Potter, Dementors, and of course- souls. More specifically, we're going to be discussing a popular fan theory which suggests that Dementors are perhaps more drawn to Harry than anyone else. Now, Harry's had his fair share of run ins with Dementors, that's for sure- but what I want to look at today is whether or not his copious run-ins with dementors was the result of sheer dumb misfortune, or whether they were constantly drawn to Harry for another reason. Dementors are cloaked creatures that are 3 metres tall with dark grey scabby skin. Dementors are foul creatures that represent unhappiness and despair. They are commonly known as the guards of Azkaban prison, responsible for ensuring that all of Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Sad TRUTH Behind Snape's Spell Sectumsempra - Harry Potter Theory
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Severus Snape, spell creation, and his famous dark curse 'Sectumsempra'.Under the moniker the 'Half-Blood Prince' Severus Snape scribbled all sorts of spells and curses in to his Advanced Potion Making textbook. But perhaps none were more dangerous or powerful than Sectumsempra- a spell that we got to see on display in totality during Harry and Draco's 1997 duel in the sixth floor boys bathroom. And when Harry first takes Slughorn's potion class, he's fortunate enough to find the very same textbook that a young, troubled Snape once jotted pure gold in to."This book is the property of the Half Blood Prince"Harry uses the book for quite a while, as for each and every one of Slughorn's lessons, the book provided easier and clearer instructions that he could follow. The book was like having cheat codes to all of the potions lessons. But inside the book was not just advice on how to make potions or perfect existing spells, there were also spells written inside that were totally new to Harry. Spells like Sectumsempra. These were spells that he had never seen or heard of before- and that's because they were invented by Snape himself.Snape invented many spells- Levicorpus, Liberacorpus, the Muffliato Charm, Langlock etc.But Sectumsempra was..perhaps...the most meaningful. Here's why.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why Weren't the Potter Family on the Sacred 28? - Harry Potter Explained
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing The Sacred Twenty-Eight. More specifically, we'll be diving in to WHY the Potter family were excluded from this 'exclusive' list.Let's start with the most obvious question: What is The Sacred Twenty-Eight? Well, as you may already know, it's actually more a question of WHO, rather than WHAT. Alright, so WHO exactly are they and how did they come to be? The Sacred Twenty-Eight is a "Pure-Blood Directory" of the wizarding world's supposed most pure-blooded magical families - which is to say, the witches and wizards whose ancestors had not "muddied" their blood lines with Muggle integration. A 'Pure-blood' was classified as a witch or wizard who had no muggles, squibs, muggle-borns or half-bloods in their family tree. But while the list does indeed account for 28 pure-blood wizarding families, it's worth noting that one of the most FAMOUS surnames in Harry Potter- you guessed it..POTTER- is excluded from the list. The Potter's were pure-blood's, weren't they? Why were they excluded from this prestigious list?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why Can Some Wizards Fly? HOW? Can Death Eaters Fly? - Harry Potter Explained
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing why some witches and wizards appear to be able to..fly. And when I say 'fly', I mean they're able to project themselves through the air without the use of a traditional flying device, such as a broom. What I want to explore today is HOW this ability is achieved, who actually flew, and why only a few witches and wizards have been able to achieve it.In the Harry Potter films we see Death Eaters 'fly' on numerous occasions, the first time being in the Order of the Phoenix. We see them flying again later on in the Half-Blood Prince while attacking various communities.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

What Happens to the Wands of DEAD Wizards? - Harry Potter Explained
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing WHAT HAPPENS to the wands of Witches/Wizards AFTER they die. Now, quite early on in the story we're introduced to the idea that the bond between a witch/wizard and their wand is very special indeed. In fact, wand and wand owner are said to share an almost symbiotic relationship. From the day they first step foot in to Ollivander's wand shop, many witches and wizards are paired with the wand that they will keep for their entire life- the wand that they form a real connection with. As wands are quasi-sentient, they possess the ability to 'choose the wizard' rather than the other way around, which is why wands are a very personal item. 'The Wand Chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter'So- provided that wands are such a highly PERSONALIZED item, I think it makes perfect sense to ask: what happens to the wand AFTER the wizard dies? If the wand is in fact 'quasi-sentient' as suggested in canon, then surely the wand should be allowed to move on after the death of it's owner, right?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why Hagrid's Wand Is an Umbrella and HOW It Works - Harry Potter Theory
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're discussing Hogwarts keeper of keys and grounds - Rubeus Hagrid. More specifically- we're going to be honing in on one peculiar aspect of Hagrid's character - his wand- or lack thereof. If you had never noticed before, which I'm quite certain is impossible, Hagrid doesn't have the 'traditional' wand that one might expect a witch or wizard to have. It's not a banana and it's not a toothbrush- but it isn't far off: it's an umbrella.Ordinarily, umbrellas possess one very simple function: stop rain from falling on your head. However, Hagrid seems to be able to do just a few more things with his umbrella- and what I want to look at today is: Why Hagrid has an UMBRELLA wandandHOW his Umbrella Wand worksLet's get in to it.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
