Thompson was a candidate for District 4 representative on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education in North Carolina. Thompson was defeated in the by-district general election on November 7, 2017.

I don’t know what it’s like to be on drugs or addicted to crack or be a regular marijuana smoker. I never popped pills or any of that but I do have empathy for my people when I see them in that condition. The other day talked with a brother that I see frequently on Beatties Ford Road and LaSalle, and we had a conversation about his crack addiction and how he was struggling with it.

This morning we have more audio from our live broadcast from uptown Charlotte doing the Charlotte shout festival which was held this past weekend as we produced our show in front of a live studio audience this morning we are playing a portion of the program and which we talked about a white waitress being discriminated against in Charlotte. A black patron did not want a white waitressed serving him so he asked for a black one and we discussed it and the question is do you have to prefer a certain server at a restaurant?

Got a chance to speak with a young brother who grew up in the exclusive Jack and Jill program for wealthy and affluent Blacks in Charlotte
Affluent Blacks in Charlotte are sometimes invited to put there child in a program called Jack and Jill of America, Inc. It is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19, dedicated to nurturing future African-American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. Spencer Ferguson grew up in the program and talks about his experience.
