Day 96: Judges 19-21

Today on Meditating the Word, we read about a Levite and his Concubine, her rape and murder; the Israelites Punishment of the Benjamites; and the Provision of Wives for the Benjamites.

This is Day 96. Today we are reading Judges 19-21

Father God, those were rough times. It's very hard to read about the wickedness that existed, even among your chosen people. Yet, you were faithful to your covenant with Israel, and didn't let the tribe of Benjamin be totally destroyed. Help us to be faithful to your Word, Father. And to always remember that there are very real consequences for sin. But thank you that even though we may have consequences to deal with in the natural, the wages of sin have been paid by Jesus' death on the cross, and we have eternal life in him. Thank you, Father, for your mercy and your faithfulness. Amen.
