54: Diane Downs- Part 2

Part 2 of 2: On May 19, 1983 Diane Downs' three children were brutally shot, only 2 children surviving. Diane was also shot- in the forearm, her injuries suspiciously disproportionate to that of her children. As the police investigate, Diane's story begins to fall apart and they uncover a deep obsession with a past lover. Did Diane's obsession turn deadly or was her family the target of a crazed gunman? In 2007, 17-year-old Kara Kopetsky walked out of her high school and was never seen again. Everyone close to Kara felt that her abusive ex-boyfriend was behind her disappearance, however investigators were unable to firmly tie him to Kara’s disappearance. In 2016, 21-year-old Jessica Runions also disappeared in a nearby Missouri town. The man she was last seen with? Kara’s ex-boyfriend, Kylr Yust. It wasn’t until one of Yust’s close family members confessed to his involvement that investigators were able to finally start to piece together what had happened to both Kara and Jessica and finally bring justice and closure to them and their families. 257: MMIW- The Murder of Sonya Ivanoff (FREE Weekly Episode)

Just after midnight on August 11th, 2003, Alaskan native, Sonya Ivanoff parted ways with her best friend and began the short walk home to her apartment from her friend’s house. This would be the last time that 19-year-old Sonya was seen alive by her best friend. A few days later, Sonya’s nude body was found just a few miles outside of her hometown of Nome, Alaska. She’d been shot once in the back of the head. Unfortunately, investigators were unable to find any DNA or obvious evidence at the scene or on Sonya’s body. They couldn’t understand how a perpetrator could leave zero DNA evidence behind. As they progressed in the investigation, two witnesses came forward and dropped a bombshell on them about Sonya’s last moments that night. What came next made the entire community of Nome, and even Alaska, question if they were really safe. **TRIGGER WARNING: MMIW, sexual assault, murder** Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/G89VUbujX7Q Hang with us: Follow Us on Instagram Like Us on Facebook Join our Case Discussion Group on Facebook Get Killer Queens Merch Bonus Episodes Support Our AMAZING Sponsors: Babbel: Right now, get up to 55% off your subscription when you go to BABBEL.com/queens. Introducing COLD: The Search for Sheree

Introducing COLD: The Search for Sheree

Sheree Warren left her job in Salt Lake City on a mild October evening in 1985. She told a coworker she was headed to meet her estranged husband, Charles Warren, at a car dealership. But she never made it, Sheree vanished. When her car mysteriously surfaced weeks later, hundreds of miles away in Las Vegas, no one could say how it got there. When a young mother disappears under unexplained circumstances, police always turn suspicious eyes towards the husband. And although there was distrust around Charles Warren, he wasn’t the only suspect when Sheree went missing. She also had a boyfriend, a former cop named Cary Hartmann, who lived a sinister double life. Season three follows two suspects– men who both raised suspicion for investigators. But with two strong persons of interest with competing facts and evidence, it muddied the murder investigation. This season, host Dave Cawley, digs into the lives of these two men, the details of the case and examines the intersections between domestic abuse and sexual violence. The COLD team seeks to answer the question: what really happened to Sheree Warren? Hey Prime Members, you can binge all 10 episodes of COLD: The Search for Sheree ad-free on Amazon Music. On July 10th, 1998, 15-year-old Shanara Mobley gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in Jacksonville, Florida. Less than 12 hours later, her sweet girl had been abducted from the hospital and disappeared without a trace. Several hours later, 32-year-old Gloria Williams knocked on her mother’s door in Ruffin, South Carolina. When her mother opened the door, she found Gloria standing there with a newborn baby in her arms. Gloria said that she’d given birth in a Charleston hospital earlier that day.
