The Devil in the White City – Canceled Hulu has canceled the adaptation of Erik Larson’s bestselling novel “The Devil in the White City,” which had Keanu Reeves attached to star. The series was going to tell the story of the visionary architect Daniel H. Burnham and Dr. H. H. Holmes, America’s first modern serial killer, during the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. The project, which had been developing since 2010, was initially planned as a feature film before shifting gears and becoming a limited series for Hulu. While plans to shop the project to other outlets exist, it’s unclear whether the adaptation will move forward. Barry – Ending HBO has confirmed that the fourth season of Bill Hader’s dark comedy “Barry” will be its last. The show follows the story of Barry, a hitman who wants to become an actor, but his past life and the violent world he’s trying to leave behind keeps pulling him back in. The final season will consist of eight episodes and is set to premiere in April. Dune: The Sisterhood – Canceled Dune: The Sisterhood, the HBO Max spinoff prequel series to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film Dune, is on production hiatus as the show has lost both its director, Johan Renck, and Shirley Henderson, an actor in a prominent role. Villeneuve had originally designed the series as a prequel to his film and announced it in 2019, but departed the project in 2022 to focus on shooting the second half of his Dune movie project. Warner Bros. is reportedly going through a significant wave of cost-cutting and reorganizing, leading to HBO Max canceling or dropping expensive series.

Funko, the manufacturer of the popular Funko Pop Vinyls line, is reportedly sending at least $30 million worth of idle stock to a landfill due to the overstocking of warehouses. According to Kotaku, the company announced during an earnings call that it has so much inventory sitting in its warehouses that it's more financially viable to dispose of $30 to $36 million worth of stock than to store it any longer. Funko's CEO, Brian Mariotti, stated that one distribution center was so full that the company had to rent shipping containers to hold the excess stock. With a vast range of characters and franchises, including Marvel, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and more, Funko has been producing new lines of Pop Vinyls at a rapid pace. As a result, the company has accumulated an enormous amount of unsold stock, leading to the current dilemma.

Jon Bernthal is returning to his role as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, in the upcoming Marvel Studios series, Daredevil: Born Again. This news comes as a pleasant surprise for fans who have been eagerly waiting for Bernthal’s return to the character since the cancellation of the Punisher series on Netflix. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Bernthal will join Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in the series, which will begin shooting in New York this month. Born Again, based on a Daredevil storyline published in 1986, will be an 18-episode series, unlike other Marvel series that typically come in six or nine episodes per season. Writers and executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord are behind the show, which is expected to premiere in the spring of 2024 on Disney+. While the show deviates from the comic book storyline, it will still feature Daredevil’s battle against Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin. Bernthal first played the Punisher on Netflix’s version of Daredevil in 2016 and went on to headline his own Punisher series for two seasons. The series was canceled by Netflix ahead of the launch of Disney+. But Marvel boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that the Netflix characters are still in play, and Cox’s Daredevil has made cameo appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk.
