The restaurant is closed for renovations during the month of August, but that won't stop us from serving up some tasty specials. First up is the crossover episode between Ashley's Studying Scarlet Podcast and Emily's Drunk Drunk Dead podcast, which focused on some truly mysterious cases from Germany.Emily discussesdthe little known tale of the exorcism of Gottliebin Dittus. In 1840, a relatively unlikable (by 1840s Germany standards) young woman, Gottliebin, began to experience some strange happenings from phantom knocks and bangs in the home to loss of consciousness and bleeding breasts. After observing her convulsing and speaking in multiple languages,local pastor, Johann Cristoff Blumhardt, determined she must be possessed by not 1 or 2, but 1067 demons and lost souls who were themselves possessed. It took nearly 2 more years and some horrific occurrences for Gottliebin to finally be rid of the evil.Ashley tackled the sad story of the girl in the box. On September 15, 1981, 10 year old Ursula Herrmann went missing on her short bike ride home. The eventual discovery of her body in a box only brought more questions than answers. Who could do this to a little girl? Did they actually intend to ransom her? Did they get the right man?
