From the Cradle of Civilization to the Grave: The Tale of One Truly Epic Friendship

From the Cradle of Civilization to the Grave: The Tale of One Truly Epic Friendship

Ashley kicks off our Turkish triptych with a tale as old as time…okay, fine, as old as circa 2100 BCE: the Epic of Gilgamesh. This king-sized meal begins with a brief history of Mesopotamia and the city of Uruk to whet your appetite before diving into our main course, the epic poem itself, which centers on the heroic journey of Gilgamesh and his ride-or-die BFF, Enkidu (who in our opinion is the true hero of this story, but what do we know?). To finish our auditory feast, Ashley offers a brief exploration of the deluge myth, so make sure your giant ark is seaworthy and make yourself comfortable because this could go on for 126 years. To stay on top of all the latest from Pineapple Pizza Podcast, be sure to check out our website at www.pineapplepizzapodcast.com where you will find links to merch, Patreon and a variety of ways to support the show, as well as detailed episode descriptions and regional specials.
