Welcome to this brand-new limited series "Wine Business Talk with Colangelo & Partners" hosted by Juliana Colangelo. This series deals with the wine business and the evolution of technologies in the wine industry; how it's helping consumers and how wineries can effectively use these technologies. Each guest gives listeners valuable guidance on how consumers choose wine, purchase and drink wine. A wine country native with nearly 15 years of experience in public relations and communications, Kristen Reitzell believes PR is the driving force behind establishing brand credibility, creating lasting awareness, and building consumer loyalty. Kristen joined Jackson Family Wines in 2013 as the Public Relations Manager for the Spire Collection — the company’s luxury brand division. Over the next few years Kristen oversaw media and trade relations, partnerships and strategic events, while also executing national consumer awareness campaigns, new product launches, and estate openings. Today, Kristen manages all aspects of Jackson Family Wines’ communications strategy, overseeing corporate and family communications, global PR across the company’s collection of 40 wineries in California, Oregon, France, Italy, Australia, Chile and South Africa as well as digital marketing strategies across various brand portfolios. Kristen began her career in PR in San Francisco, working with companies in the emerging mobile and green technology space as well as consumer electronics. With a desire to pursue her passion for wine, Kristen began consulting with various restaurants and wineries in the Bay Area while also attending the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone where she furthered her technical studies in wine. In 2008, she also became a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Kristen then joined Calhoun & Company Communications, a boutique public relations agency that specializes in luxury wine and spirits. There, she managed PR and social media strategy for multiple domestic and international wineries.
