Welcome to Episode 1783 and another installment of "On The Road Edition", hosted by Stevie Kim. Today’s episode features an Instalive throwback during Christmas holiday, featuring José Rallo from Donnafugata winery Passito wines represent a niche production in the Italian wine sector, they are often consumed only on special occasions or during family meals when they are typically combined with the dessert course. Seven women producers from all over Italy will join us for this series, to discuss their Passito wines and recommend the perfect pairing with a typical Christmas dish from their region, sharing personal memories linked to the Christmas holidays and wine. More about today’s co-moderator Born in 1964, José Rallo represents the fifth generation of a Sicilian family with 170 years of experience in quality wine. She graduated in Business and Economics at the S. Anna School of Higher Education and Specialization in Pisa with the highest degree “cum laude plus honorable mention”. After a professional experience in international management consulting companies, in the early 90s José Rallo joined Donnafugata, the family winery founded in 1983 by his parents Giacomo and Gabriella. Together with her brother Antonio, she is today the CEO of Donnafugata that today has 5 wineries and over 480 hectares of vineyards between Marsala, Contessa Entellina, Pantelleria, Etna and Vittoria, all territories with extraordinary potential. José Rallo innovated the style of wine communication with the "Donnafugata Music & Wine Live", proposing as a producer and solo voice multisensory experiences of wine and music that have given rise to three CDs and memorable concerts at the Blue Note in Milan and New York, Beijing, Shanghai and Moscow, and at the Acropolis Museum in Athens, also raising funds to support solidarity initiatives.
