In 1963, his grandfather Leonardo Specogna, who had spent some years as an emigrant in Switzerland, returned to Friuli. It was during this time that, fascinated by the beauty of the hills of Rocca Bernarda, in Corno di Rosazzo, he decided to purchase a small plot of land in the area. Initially, the family's focus was on dairy, cereal, and self-consumption wine production. However, thanks to the dedication of Cristian's father, Graziano, the estate gradually shifted its primary focus towards wine production. Cristian's interest in viticulture and winemaking naturally evolved as he followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. After completing studies in Viticulture and Oenology, he embarked on a series of experiences and study trips to prominent Italian and French wine-growing regions, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of the potential of their own territory. The winery now stands on the hills of Rocca Bernarda in Corno di Rosazzo, at the heart of the Friulian wine land. Today, the family's winemaking tradition is upheld by the third generation, Cristian and Michele. They have 25 hectares of vineyards, farmed organically situated on the hills between 100 and 300 metres above sea level.
