Is MDMA Therapy the modern day answer for our Mental Health?

Question: What do a former Liberal party cabinet minister and the rave scene have in common?

Answer: An appreciation of the drug MDMA.

Experts are warning Coronavirus will have a huge impact on our mental health and former Liberal minister Andrew Robb thinks psychedelic drugs might be a solution.

MDMA, the key ingredient in party drug ecstasy and psilocybin, found in magic mushrooms have been involved in over 119 trials. With MDMA treating PTSD, and psilocybin being trialled for depression, anxiety, addiction and other conditions.

While Andrew hasn’t tried this psychedelic assisted medicine, Jesse Noakes from Perth has and found it immediately transformational. Both join us on todays episode to share their experience.

In todays headlines:

  • Top doctors urge Australians to avoid rallies after protester tests positive to coronavirus
  • PM slammed after claiming Captain Cook was not involved in slavery
  • ABC carrying out “harm and offence audit” after Chris Lilley pulled from Netflix
  • Twitter moves to stop us sharing articles we haven’t read

In todays briefing we ask:

Are psychedelic drugs a solution to Mental Health? Is it crucial psychadelic assisted medicine is only used in conjunction wtih a therapist? What does a session look like? How much does an MDMA therapy session cost?
