Ever wanted to know who Rick’s female comedy counterpart is? Well, she’s on the balcony today! It's phenomenal comedian, Beth Stelling. Days before releasing her hour-long special on HBO Max, “Girl Daddy”, she climbed over to the balcony to chat with Rick about all comedy and business. They naturally slip into some mustache bits and we get to know Beth and her process from filming her first special. Rick reveals his female body hair gripe and Beth details her 4 comedy-career rules, none of which she still keeps. The two discuss their issues with repeating jokes and why it’s been a struggle for them both. Is their struggle of needing to continuously write in fact part of their... "genius?" Beth battles feelings about self promotion whilst being extremely introspective. Welcome back, Goblins! We have a rare episode with not one but TWO GUESTS! Brent Morin climbed up the balcony with his podcast-other-half and fellow Stand up comedian, Jason Collings. Together, they are collectively known as the hosts of The Lions Den Podcast. Jason, a rookie goblin didn’t come prepared for the heat, so he proceeded to sweat for 90 mins (in a t-shirt). However Brent wore his finest mesh tank top… and just in case that wasn’t uncomfortable enough, he also spends 89% of the episode staring deeply into the camera. SO if you’re starved of affection and intimacy you’ve come to the right show. IF you opted for the audio-only version, then you’re really missing out. Watch on YouTube here! The boys get straight into dissecting play-on-word jokes, improvise commercials (cue Brent’s deplorable British accent), and how they’re all coping without Stand Up during these trying times. Jason reminisces about going on a stadium tour with Russell Peter’s and staying in the same hotels as Drake while Rick drops a joke about Family’s that may get them all canceled. The trio do a great job dissecting comedy audiences and the math of jokes. They also tell the story where they witnessed Rick’s biggest on stage stand up bomb to date and why his set's are sometimes misunderstood. Hi Boppers and Goblins! This guest is close to Rick’s heart and family. Danny Bilson is a writer of film, television, and video games. He is also a professor at The University of California. Danny was Rick’s uncle's writing partner, Paul DeMeo, up until Paul’s passing in 2018. This episode is a tribute to Paul, all the brilliant work he did, and the loving dedication he had as a father, husband and amazing uncle. Paul and Danny had worked together for decades, and their long list of credits include, but is not limited to: The Rocketeer, The Flash, The Sentinel, Viper, and even Medal of Honor multiple James Bond and 007 video games. Their last project together was "Da Five Bloods," which Spike Lee directed and released a couple weeks ago on Netflix.
