The Seeds of Love (Tears For Fears)

A (relatively) in-depth analysis of the 1989 album 'The Seeds of Love' by Tears for Fears in (just over) ten minutes. In this episode I am in discussion with Dr. Andrew Webber.

The Seeds of Love is the third Tears for Fears album. Although the production was reminiscent of Smile-era Beach Boys with lengthy studio time and abandoned recording sessions costing over £1 million, the album was an international success, entering the UK Albums Chart at number one.

Following her work with Tears for Fears, Oleta Adams was offered a recording contract with Fontana Records. Roland Orzabal co-produced her album, Circle of One.

The Seeds of Love was remastered and reissued in 1999 with four bonus tracks and was re-reissued in 2020 in five different formats including a 5-disc super deluxe edition boxed set featuring bonus material including, B-sides, demos and outtakes.

In 2022, Tears for Fears released their seventh album, The Tipping Point.

This is Episode 14 of Season 3 - a huge thank you to the overwhelming numbers of listeners over the past two years as the Low Noise podcast continues to evolve in its own inimitable way. I truly appreciate all your interest and support.

I hope you enjoy this episode.

The introduction features an excerpt from 'Ma' from the album 'Asimov' by Inafer Era.
