Ep 174: Podside Chat - What Are Your Best Addictions?

Ep 174: Podside Chat - What Are Your Best Addictions?

Start Your Transformation Now When you hear that question it catches most of us off guard. I mean, we’ve all grown up hearing about all the things that are bad for us. Too much alcohol leads to alcoholism, gambling can lead to an addiction, sex can be an addiction, and even exercising can be an addiction. The twist in this episode is that yes of course addictions can be harmful but what if addictions could be good and helpful? If that was the case then what would be your best additions? What addictions would help you live a better life? What if you became addicted to those things? Let’s start here. Your brain is designed to create habits and habits can lead to addictions – both positive and negative ones. A part of the brain called the Basal Ganglia is responsible for creating and housing our brain-based unconscious habits and the point of this podcast is that given the fact that the brain creates addictions, then let’s use it to create healthy and good addictions. In this episode, I gently touch upon the brain and its creation of habits but what I want to get across in this episode is that your brain will and does create addictions so pick the most powerful ones that will serve you. Next, we often think of addictions as either chemical or behavioral but rarely do we think of addictions in terms of addictive thinking. SO…..what negative and counterproductive thinking are you addicted to? Worry, anger, doubt, fear, jealousy, envy…to name just a few. As thinking patterns can also become thought addiction patterns, do you sabotage yourself with addictive negative thinking? As I discuss in this episode, there is a way out of this negative cycle of addictive and counterproductive thinking and that way is operating from higher function of the mind which supersedes the brain. Mind and brain are not the same things. And, in this episode, I talk about how important it is for us to “Know Ourselves” as higher functioning beings of mind and spirit and not just the brain-based / habit bases “thinker.” When we operate from higher function of mind, it becomes a lot easier to manage brain-based behaviors that often keep us trapped. Transformational Takeaway: To know yourself is to consciously choose your addictions. Ep 41: Are You Being 100% Responsible For Your Life?

Ep 41: Are You Being 100% Responsible For Your Life?

Start Your Transformation Now You’ve heard it since you were a kid, “Be responsible,” however, have you ever sat with that concept and fully explored its meaning in your own life? Responsibility is a master key in life and what you create is what you’re 100% responsible for creating or not. One of my clients once said, “Wow, when I live from being 100% responsible for my life I feel like I can do anything.” He embodied the characteristic and he 10 X his business growth in 3 years. And, what he did, you can do! In this episode I talk about: [5:55] Where you’ll be next year is 100% contingent on what you’re being responsible for [12:22] To what degree are you responsible for your own personal evolution [14:04] Why blame is victim mentality [16:09] The relationship between success and responsibility [19:05] What victim mentality looks like And, what 100% responsibility looks like. Harry Truman said it best, “The buck stops here,” and when you embody that characteristic and way of BEing, your life will change dramatically. Transformational Takeaway: What happens in your life is what you’re responsible for making happen. Let's Connect:  Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 40: Transformational Story: From Depression To Happiness

Ep 40: Transformational Story: From Depression To Happiness

Start Your Transformation Now We’re trying a new format for the next month on Mondays. We’re calling it Transformational Monday. In this first episode I interview Jennifer, she’s been a student of mine for the past six months. As you’ll hear, when she started with me she was depressed, so much so, she could barely get out of bed and had no energy to grow her business. Her life was not in a good place, mentally, physically and emotionally. This podcast is not just “Jennifer’s story,” I ask her very specific questions about how she went from very depressed to being in a great and happy place today and how she maintains that. (I think these will resonate with a lot of people.) My favorite part of her story is the “one thing” that shifted in her that pulled her out of her depression. I also think this will resonate with a lot of people. Important. When Jennifer talks about her depression, at no point do either of us infer clinical depression versus emotional funk, etc. I’m not a licensed medical or health care professional and I do not and did not dispense any kind of medical or psychological therapy. If you’ve ever been in a severe funk, you just can’t find the energy or motivation to get on with and build life, and if you’ve ever just been stuck in a “bad place,” you’re going to love this episode. Transformational Takeaway: Live in the present and be in the NOW. Let's Connect:  Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 39: Do You Have It In You?

Ep 39: Do You Have It In You?

Start Your Transformation Now When people say, “Do you have it IN you,” they're usually talking about resolve and grit and the fortitude to accomplish something. I’m going a different direction with this episode. The Dalai Lama said, “If there is no anger in you, you cannot be angry.” The same applies to every area of your life. What’s in you is what you create. Poverty, wealth, health, poor health… it’s all created by what’s “in you” mentally! In this episode I talk about: [9:25] Identity [10:57] Identity [24:17] Identity Yes, I intended to state the word “IDENTITY” three times. What’s in your unconscious identity is what’s in your life. Sun Tzu said, “Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.” Anything you want in life you must first be in your internal world. Even if you think you understand the concept of “identity,” give this episode a listen, as I think you might hear some things you’ve not heard before. Transformational Takeaway: If you don’t have it on the outside, it’s because you’re not yet that on the inside Let's Connect:  Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 38: Q & A - How Does Karma Play Out In Our Lives?

Ep 38: Q & A - How Does Karma Play Out In Our Lives?

Start Your Transformation Now Huge topic this episode and I’m in no way qualified to fully talk about karma, but I can get the conversation started. This week Lynn asked, “How does karma play out in our lives.” I answer as best I can given I’ve worked with a shaman for over 25 years and even that being said, my understanding is very limited. However, in this episode I talk about: [3:31] What is karma [10:08] Why it’s useless to compare yourself to others given we all have different karma [14:48] We do have karma and dharma and we also have free will [19:11] We’re each working out our karma in this lifetime and others [20:21] Why giving advice to others is not a good idea given we don’t know their karma And, just like every episode, I cover a lot more. I even share what I learned from a billionaire about how he lives his life relative to karma.  Transformational Takeaway: What you do to others has already been done to you. Ep 37: You’re Not In Control Of Anything

Ep 37: You’re Not In Control Of Anything

Start Your Transformation Now Despite what you think, you’re not in control of anything. It’s the greatest illusion that most of us get into and it’s toxic to so many areas of life. In this episode I talk about: How control issues destroy self, relationships, families and even businesses I often see it: [7:49] Regarding self – mentally exhaust people and create frustration [8:07] Regarding families – I’ve seen it divide families [10:24] Regarding partnerships – I’ve seen it create “prisons” for partners [12:00] Regarding business – I’ve seen it strangle business growth The reality is, you have zero control in life and even if you think you do, you don’t. In truth and science, your brain runs the show. Your brain is in control. When you get into a car, how much control do you have? Better yet, when you get on an airplane, how much control do you really have? This is one episode of a few I’m going to create on the subject. Enjoy! Transformational Takeaway: You have ZERO control over anything in your life, but you do have influence in your life. Let's Connect:  Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 36: Q & A - How Do I Change My Identity Around Money?

Ep 36: Q & A - How Do I Change My Identity Around Money?

Start Your Transformation Now Hopefully not, but if you’re like 79% of Americans you’re living paycheck to paycheck. Ironically, money is easy to make and there are a million ways to make a million dollars yet most struggle. In this episode I touch briefly on the mental aspect of money, and I make it brief because Episode 9 clearly lays out how to attract money and how to stop repelling it. In this episode I go over some of the earlier stuff again, and I expand a little on things you can do in behavior that will attract more money into your life. In this episode I discuss: [16:42] How small shifts in behavior can attract more money [19:27] Why carrying $100 in your pocket can up your money consciousness [23:11] How trusting the universe 10% opened the money flood gates for me And, to the question of the week, how to reprogram your money identity. HINT: I’ve suggested this before but you and others may have missed it so I make reference to it in this episode. Transformational Takeaway: You’ll never have money on the outside until you first have it on the inside. Let's Connect:  Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 35: AYNI - The Reciprocity Of Life Part 2

Ep 35: AYNI - The Reciprocity Of Life Part 2

Start Your Transformation Now How often you wondered why things are not coming to you as easily in life as they seem to come to others? Probably almost everyone reading this can relate in some way. Right? You’re working away, you’re helping others but things just don’t open up. The flood gates never open wide. There are a few reasons for this but a vital reason is where you’re holding your energy and attention in regard to service and manifestation. In my opinion, this episode is a Master Concept – AYNI. Ancient Incan for “Reciprocity of Life.” We get what we give with an open heart, and if you’re not getting in life you may want to ask yourself if are you “giving to get or giving to give?” In this episode we talk about: [11:04] Why “servant leadership” is usually misplaced [12:01] Taking, matching and giving [16:04] The humbleness of giving anonymously [18:39] Why the best way to take care of yourself it taking care of others first [25:18] Why giving to others is an investment in yourself [26:03] How giving is like an ATM And, as you know from every episode, much, much more. In this episode I give you multiple stories and examples of how I shifted from a “matcher” to a giver. Specifically, a giver with an open heart, which makes all the difference. I said it earlier and I’ll say it again, I cannot stress enough, AYNI, and mastering it is the key to just about everything you want. Enjoy this episode, and more importantly, master ANYI and transform your circumstances. Transformational Takeaway: What you give with an open heart is what returns. Ep 34: Q & A - How Can You Commit To Your Goal If You Don’t Know What Your Goal Is In The First Place?

Ep 34: Q & A - How Can You Commit To Your Goal If You Don’t Know What Your Goal Is In The First Place?

Start Your Transformation Now This week’s Q&A Rocco asks, “How can you commit to your goal if you don’t know what your goal is in the first place?” If you’re like most people, you can relate. You know what you don’t want but you don’t know what you do want. Can you relate? If you can relate, you’re like Rocco, and even if you can’t entirely relate, you may still enjoy this episode because it may reveal to you some ineffective performance strategies you’ve been using. In this episode we talk about: [7:39] Why being “realistic and reasonable” are traps [9:00] How most people work from resignation instead from the possibility [19:17] The fact that you’re a born creator [20:14] Why the only place you can create from is the present moment [26:15] How there are no rules in life Transformational Takeaway: Stop talking about what you don’t want and start working from what you do want.
