Weekend Watchlist - BIOGEN

Weekend Watchlist - BIOGEN

Welcome to this first episode of Weekend Watchlist. These episodes are designed to take a deep dive into a company and why it might be worth putting on your watch list. It's not a recommendation to buy, but a way of learning how the experts go about screening for value.

Ethan Widell Senior Analyst from Ironhold Capital joined me to discuss BIOGEN (BIIB) a pharmaceutical company that has had its stock price punished after a negative patent outcome. There is an upside due to a new Alzheimers drug due for approval in June.

“It's trading as though investors think there's a 100% chance of it being rejected. It's about fair value given very, very negative assumptions about the company. So our thoughts are that it remains a great company, regardless of whether it can pass this through. And while it has some bumpy years ahead with that loss of its major drug, it still has a great niche and still has a great ability to produce more drugs in the future.”
