72. When Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Met Ryan Anderson

In honor of Valentine’s Day, will you accept this rose? Gypsy-Rose, that is!

After serving an eight-year sentence for the murder of her mother, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard was released on parole in December 2023. Upon release, she reunited with her husband, Ryan Anderson, whom she met and married while behind bars. Ryan proudly takes on the role of Gypsy’s knight in shining armor in what appears like a happily-ever-after marriage.

However, Gypsy's story has been far from a fairy tale. Enduring 19 years of horrific abuse, followed by imprisonment, Gypsy is now free for the first time in her whole life. In this episode, we imagine what it’d be like to begin a marriage with someone you’ve never experienced day-to-day, normal life with as we worry about how this love story might unfold. Meanwhile, we discuss why infamous inmates often have many suitors in prison and the personality types they attract.
