Now On LaserDisc

Yes, there are still some practical uses for laser discs. Here are a few examples:

Archiving and preservation: Laser discs are still a good option for archiving and preserving video content. They offer superior video and audio quality to VHS tapes and are less susceptible to damage from wear and tear. This makes them a good choice for storing important historical footage or other video content that you want to keep for the long term.

Educational purposes: Laser discs can be used for educational purposes, such as teaching foreign languages or providing interactive learning experiences. They can also be used to store large datasets of information, such as scientific data or medical records.

Audiophile listening: Laser discs offer superior audio quality to other optical disc formats, such as CDs and DVDs. This makes them a good choice for audiophiles who want to listen to music in the highest possible quality.

Retro gaming: Laser discs were used to store some early video games, such as Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. These games are still popular with retro gamers, and laser discs are the only way to play them in their original format.

It is important to note that laser discs are not as widely used as they once were. They have been largely replaced by newer optical disc formats, such as DVDs and Blu-rays. However, they still have some practical uses in certain niche applications.
