EP #58 – LUIS CARLOS FLORES AGUILAR | Reinventing Yourself in Your 20's (or at any age)

Luis Carlos Flores Aguilar is an award-winning bilingual (English/Spanish) senior communications advisor with experience working in the public sector and as a freelancer. He has a background in engineering and project management, has taught Spanish lessons, and once upon a time in Mexico, he was a singer and a TV host.

In 2021, he was the recipient of Canadian Immigrant magazine’s Canadian Immigrant Awards, which celebrates the achievements, challenges and impact of newcomers to the country.

On this conversation, Luis Carlos and I spoke about how he reinvented himself and his career – from studying oil and gas engineering in Mexico to becoming a public relations expert working in the public sector in Canada, and how these changes didn't always feel right at the beginning…but later on can be incredibly rewarding.
