Bonus!! You is Kind, You is Smart, You is Problematic.

Who owns who’s stories? How do we begin to tell stories across difference? When done so successfully, what defines that success? Barry Jenkins, a straight man, directed Moonlight one of the greatest queer stories in cinema. Ryan Murphy, a cis white man, conceived POSE, the most inclusive cast of trans people of color in the history of broadcast. If Hanya Yanagihara, a straight Hawaiian woman, can write A Little Life, a story about black queer men, only to have penned literally every queer’s favorite book, then how did she do it? Y’all know and understand that Scarlett Johansson should not get to play a trans man on screen — but do y’all understand the mechanics of the why? Tune in.For appetizers, Joe makes us decipher the difference between slutty Sharon Olds poems and trashy romantic novels. Also, how much sex do the Thots actually have? The answers will horrify you! Food 4 Thot x Junk: Podcast Vers

Food 4 Thot x Junk: Podcast Vers

Hello my little Skittles, have I got some vittles for you: This week’s Junk is a special crossover ep with those gay sluts who love to read, Food 4 Thot! That’s right, we’ve got Fran Tirado, Joseph Osmundson, and Dennis Norris II—nobody’s junior—showing us that Junk can pluck us from the brink of sibling estrangement, Junk can remind us to try with the corny optimism of youth, and Junk can reinforce a meaningful link we have to those we’ve lost, sometimes in ways we didn’t know when they were here. Fran Tirado is a writer, editor, queer community maker, and glitter evangelist. Joseph Osmundson is a scientist, non-fiction writer, total crop Top, and the softest bowl of soft-serve you’ll ever meet. Dennis Norris II—nobody’s junior—is a writer, reader, former figure skater, lapsed violist, and all-star around the way girl. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll eat some gummy peaches, and to finish you off I’ll read a particularly Funyun-flavored excerpt from Junk the epic poem. Brought to you by Tin House Books.Follow our Instagram to see each guest’s ahem junk every week @junkpodcastFran Tirado, @fransquishcoJoseph Osmundson, @reluctantlyjoeDennis Norris II, @theearldendenTommy Pico, host @heyteebsAlexandra DiPalma, producer @LSDiPalmaKenya Anderson, production assistant @kenya_digg_itFran Tirado’s junk is a handmade card from his sister, giving you ransom note from the front and murder scene from the backJoeseph Osmundson’s junk is his fully-mounted and priced high school photography and the MoMA is QUAKING rnDennis Norris II—nobody’s junior—has a framed photo “in this gorgeous silver frame” from their final routine on the ice, but far from their final time at the kiss & cry Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com Hosted on Acast. Smell U L8r!

Smell U L8r!

On this, the Food 4 Thot season 2 finale, your favorite Tater Thots come full circle by considering the cycles that govern us all. Whether it’s night and day or life and death, we recognize that beginnings and endings are always present. We pay homage to the place where they intersect and examine our greatest moments of change; for where there is an ending (hopefully a happy ending!), any Thot worth their lube will always find room for possibility—a beginning of sorts. So we ask: can we be lost, and yet found? How do we launch ourselves, as queer brown folk, into the lives that are meant for us? And are we forever stuck in a cycle of surviving beginnings and chasing our desired endings?Live tweet the episode: twitter.com/food4thotpodTroll us on Facebook: facebook.com/food4thotpodDM us on Insta: instagram.com/gayslutswhoreadDennis: twitter.com/theearldendenJoe: twitter.com/reluctantlyjoeTommy: twitter.com/heyteebsFran: twitter.com/fransquishcoRelease date: 27 May 2018 Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com Hosted on Acast. Shake Shacktivism

Shake Shacktivism

Save urself, bbsThis week, we dive deep into politics, organizing, art, and activism. We’re joined by professional activist and boi-with-perfect-biceps Eliel Cruz. As writers, queer folks, and people of color (except Joe), our work is inherently connected to our bodies, and our bodies are, of course, political. But, at the same time, we all need freedom to make our work, even though it’s 2018 and the world is a burning, shit-infused trash heap. Where does this leave us? Is it enough to make work wherein queer and brown people can thrive and be whole? Is posting selfies with Audre Lorde quotes going to save us? Are there limits to protest? Are we just fucked, so we might as well just fuck? Before we bite the end off of that spicy sausage, we lube you up with some hybrid blends and love notes. Then Teebs tells us how he fell out of love and into writing with a pit-stop in scabie-ville. And we end with our favorite dessert of all time: Queen Cardi.Live tweet the episode: twitter.com/food4thotpodTroll us on Facebook: facebook.com/food4thotpodDM us on Insta: instagram.com/gayslutswhoreadDennis: twitter.com/theearldendenJoe: twitter.com/reluctantlyjoeTommy: twitter.com/heyteebsFran: twitter.com/fransquishcoRelease date: 20 May 2018 Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com Hosted on Acast. We Are Not Lonely, We Just Hate People

We Are Not Lonely, We Just Hate People

We consider the difference between two of our favorite Tarot cards: The Hermit, who is alone by choice and on a deep, spiritual journal of self-discovery, and the Eight of Cups, a card of breakups, leaving love behind, losing what we thought we had (possibly without ever getting it back). Which isolations do we choose to fill up our resevoir and which isolations zap and sap our spirits? Baby gurl, are you lonely (Joe) or just alone (Teebs AF)? And, how does being queer – especially outside of big cities – alter this delicate balance? Before we get to the meaaaaat of the discussion, we decide conclusively that Oprah is a vers-top who loves getting her salad tossed (“YOU get a butthole, and YOU get a butthole”), and Joe O the Science Hoe takes us on a thot-ful tour of the West Coast, wherein he (spoiler alert) loses love and fills the void with… dick, duh.Live tweet the episode: twitter.com/food4thotpodTroll us on Facebook: facebook.com/food4thotpodDM us on Insta: instagram.com/gayslutswhoreadDennis: twitter.com/theearldendenJoe: twitter.com/reluctantlyjoeTommy: twitter.com/heyteebsFran: twitter.com/fransquishcoRelease date: 13 May 2018 Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com Hosted on Acast. This Episode is Literally Everything

This Episode is Literally Everything

For our next installment of Food 4 Thot, we shake things up a bit. We get tons of topics submitted for suggestion everyday from our fans, so this week, we take on five.First off — drag. Why is drag problematic and when can it be great? Then, HIV/AIDS — how does access to healthcare and human rights a problem for people living with the virus? How can you, if you don’t have HIV, work to destigmatize this global epidemic? How can you have unprotected sex safely, and with whom? Next we we talk about whiteness. We get tons of emails from folx who say, “I’m white, help! What do I do now!?” Truly, we cannot help you. But! We have a few pointers to at least guide you on your journey in interacting with people of color on a daily basis. Then, we talk about queer intellectualism and how polarizing it is. (“Am I not smart enough to be queer??”) And finally, we talk about ghosting. When is it ethical? Is it ever ethical? Spoiler: Yes.Play along with us on our new favorite game: Microbrew or Gay Porn? The game is… exactly what it sounds like. Also, in our Impure Thot story this week, we have a special guest: you! We read through 60 pages of absolutely salacious slutty stories from our very own fans, and they are truly disgusting.
