In late 2019, Kay Woodcock called local police and asked them to perform a welfare check on her 7-year-old grandson, JJ Vallow. She hadn’t seen him in almost two months, and couldn’t get in touch with his mother or his older sister. As investigators began to look into where JJ was, they found that his 16-year-old sister, Tylee Ryan, was also missing. Their mother, Lori Vallow, claimed that they were safe and happy, but refused to tell anyone where they were. Detectives continued to dig into the Vallow family and found a sickening story of extreme religion, demons, zombies, and murder. They found suspicious deaths that surrounded Lori, as well as her new husband, Chad Daybell. Unfortunately, no one could find JJ or Tylee. The Houston Police Department received a 911 call in the early morning hours of July 29th, 2016, from a very calm 16-year-old. AJ Armstrong told the dispatcher that he’d heard gunshots in his parents’ room downstairs and that he was now hiding in the closet of his third floor bedroom. When officers arrived, they found AJ’s mother, Dawn, dead in her bed, from two gunshot wounds to the head. AJ’s father, Antonio, had also suffered a gunshot wound to the head, but was clinging to life. Both AJ and his 12-year-old sister were unharmed. Less than 24 hours later, AJ was charged with the capital murder of both of his parents. Was he responsible for their brutal slayings, or had a masked intruder really just gotten THAT lucky to get away with a double murder? In the late evening and early morning hours between July 12th and July 13th, 2015, 18-year-old Tiffany Valiante’s body was recovered by police after it was struck by a train in Mays Landing, New Jersey. Her family was told that the promising young volleyball player had jumped out in front of the train, taking her own life. Tiffany was a typical teenager, who struggled sometimes at home and argued with her parents, but had also been offered five scholarships to play college volleyball and couldn’t wait to meet her college roommate. The New Jersey Transit Police quickly closed the case, ruling it a suicide, however, there were so many questions left unanswered. Tiffany’s family is left wondering still, what happened to her on those train tracks? On July 20th, 2020, Gallatin, Tennessee 911 dispatchers received a phone call from Aaron Solomon. He told them that his 18-year-old son Grant was lying in a ditch at the bottom of the parking lot, and that his Toyota Tacoma had backed over him and dragged him down the hill. When responders arrived, they found Grant alive, but only just. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Officers ruled the death an accident and the case was closed.
