Intro to Bikepacking | Live @ The Brockton Cyclery

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures podcast I sit down with Cameron and Glen, two adventurers that live and breath bikes. Both of these guys have been working at Brockton Cyclery in Toronto since it first opened and when not in the 'office' they can usually be found out riding, camping, and drinking coffee. As one of the pre-eminent bike touring and bikepacking shops in Ontario, Brockton Cyclery has grown into a household name to many people across the country. This Intro to Bikepacking night was originally live-streamed over Instagram on Thursday May 12th, 2022. Throughout this episode, we talk a lot about the bike touring and bikepacking, how to prepare for your first adventure, and what are the most recommended pieces of gear someone should consider buying. We also discuss bikes, bike camping, and share our own stories so that people can learn from our experiences.Brockton Cyclery has been kind enough to provide me with a sponsorship this year and have been instrumental in me finishing my new bike build and making it into the ultimate bikepacking rig.Join the Bikepack Adventures RideWithGPS Club:Click HereBTA's Newest Supporters:Darryl PierceTo support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find them at:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/brocktoncycleryFACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/BrocktonCycleryYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTCDmBwm6rDTsquixEBHwUAWebsite: https://www.brocktoncyclery.com/Find me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. Heinz Stücke | 50 Years Around the World by Bike - Part 1

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast I really excited to introduce you to Heinz Stücke. For those of you that may not know who he is, I'm about to tell you. Starting in November of 1962 at the age of 22, Heinz rode out of his town on a 3-speed bicycle with a general plan to see the world, he would ultimately travel over 600,000km by bicycle in a journey spanning nearly 50 years and covering enough distance to circumnavigate the world 15 times around. Never giving up on his beloved bike it had been stolen and recovered 5 times and welded 16 times, Heinz lives by the motto "Be carefree - Be Mad - Be a little bit bad. It's the unknown around the corner that turns my wheel." By the end of the tour, Heinz had cycled through 196 countries and 86 territories.BTA's Newest Supporters:Chris De SistoRyan PhillipsDave WeilTo support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find Heinz at:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/heinzstuckeFind me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. 0Stella | Bike Touring Across Canada as a Musician

0Stella | Bike Touring Across Canada as a Musician

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures I have the chance to speak with Liz Pomeroy, an Irish-Canadian artist that goes by the stage name 0Stella. The "0" in her name symbolizes her advocacy for zero-waste. When venue doors locked down in 2020 it got her thinking: I’m 0Stella. I stand for sustainability, zero waste. I tour all the time. I can do this better. So she committed to touring across Canada on a bicycle, by herself. A 2022 cycling bard. There is no other way she'd rather tour right now. So she's hitting the road this spring to bring live music and stories back to you, to your garden, to your acreage, to your driveway. Four and a half months across almost 7,000 kilometres. When I first came across an article that detailed what 0Stella was planning to do, I immediately knew I wanted to get her on the show to share her story with us.To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find them at:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/0stellamusic/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/0StellaMusic/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/0stellaSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/5uRLlaQWzvB1VXPLpUzKmOWebsite: https://0stella.com/ Find me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. Victor Zicho | Biking the Top of the World: Cycling Kilimanjaro, Nordkapp and the Himalayas

I first had the pleasure of interviewing Victor in Episode 039 of the podcast. Victor had been on a bike tour to follow the footsteps of the famed philologist and orientalist Alexander Csoma de Koros, author of the first Tibetan-English dictionary and grammar book. Victor chose to use a bike to follow the route that Csoma walked, taking him through places such as Turkey, Kurdistan, Iran, through Tajikistan into the famed Pamir Highway, across the border into Wakhan Corridor, Pakistan and then finally into India where he finished his trip at the place where Csoma is buried in Darjeeling. Now, having finished his expedition and written a book, Victor has been on the move again, embarking on some pretty amazing cycling adventures.BTA's Newest Supporters:Chris JefferyBrian KarbowskiTo support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find Victor at:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/zicho.hu/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/zicho.viktorYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0O14hFcx6E3cq-55Sx4_GwWebsite: http://zicho.hu/en/home/Find me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors.
