Is traditional underground metal in a state of managed decline?

What's another year eh? getting back on the horse, back on the road again, not letting them grind ya down and all the usual cliches, this episode takes a look at the reaction to my top 20 of the year we have just done and dusted and observing the absolute deluge of music I forgot or would never have enough hours in the day to check out and asks the question is the underground, traditional metal just in a state of managed decline? a dusty old museum we have to remember to turn the lights on so the odd visitor can see through the gloom?
