And fire officials are investigating one of the deadliest fires in New York City in almost 40 years as 17 people were killed - eight of them children. Turns out, the cause was a space heater. It’s a grim reminder to be as prepared as you can for a fire. We have some important information that could help you get out alive. Plus, it's never a good idea to ski into the snow making equipment...but when that happened at one ski area, it resulted in a geyser of ice water erupting that actually knocked some skiers off a chairlift. One year ago, the nation watched in horror as rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol, threatening the lives of the vice president and top leadership in Congress. Today, President Biden declared the threat to American democracy has not ended, saying the date - January 6th - has joined December 7th and 9/11 as dates of infamy in American history. And Covid has taken a toll on Broadway. However, over at Wicked, they really believe the show must go on…which resulted in a triumphant return for someone who thought her performing days were over. Plus, you're supposed to call 911 only in an emergency...and for one six-year-old little girl, a lost Barbie doll is a crisis. It's an ugly rumor in the wake of the passing of Betty White…and it’s completely false. Betty White died at the age of 99 of natural causes. Not as some troublemakers are falsely saying from a Covid booster. And Elizabeth Holmes has been found guilty. The founder of Theranos has been convicted on four counts of lying to investors about a blood test technology she knew didn’t work. The trial was delayed in July when Holmes gave birth to her first baby. Now, some are asking: Did being a new mom impact the case? Plus, there are a lot of fathers and sons who work together…but this particular combination is rather unique. And even in these divided times, most people can agree that Betty White was a national treasure. Her secret to staying young was quite simple, she once said “just focus on the positive.” To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Once again, getting into better shape was the number one New Year’s resolution. However, for women heading to the gym, working out often comes with unwanted comments from some creepy guy. Well, one woman fought back, and as Ann Mercogliano reports, she became a social media hero. And a family keeps an airhorn by their back door...and for good reason. When a coyote attacked their Chihuahua named Chico...that airhorn may have saved the dog’s life. Plus, a guy was in such a rush to scare away some would-be thieves - he forgot to put pants on! And this is a rarity among sperm donors. Jim Moret on a man who not only met the children created through his donation…he's now becoming close to the grandchildren!
