We're back in New York after a whirlwind few days in London for King Charles Coronation culminating in last night's blowout concert where Katy Perry brought the house down. But even the stars on the stage couldn't outshine the little royals in the audience who clearly know all the words to Katy Perry's songs! And, if you've lost count of how many mass shootings have happened so far this year, you're not alone. It's a sad commentary in today's times. The latest shooting came this weekend at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas where a gunman, clad in body armor, opened fire with an automatic rifle on shoppers. Eight were killed along with the gunman by a cop who just happened to be there. As Jim Moret reports, the gunman was wearing a patch that symbolizes a right-wing death squad. Plus, according to reports, a grand jury may be meeting today to decide if any charges will be brought in connection with that death on a New York City subway. Meantime a group upset about the killing of a subway performer by a Marine veteran decided to assemble 'on' the subway tracks themselves … a move officials called dangerous and reckless. The Marine veteran claims he was acting defense of himself and other passengers. Les Trent has details, and we warn you this story contains upsetting video. And, closing arguments today in the civil rape trial against former President Donald Trump with E. Jean Carroll's attorney saying she was 'exactly his type.' Although, the judge gave Trump until 5pm yesterday to say he would testify, the deadline passed with no word from the former president. Inside Edition reports…Call it panic buying 2.0. Around the country, store shelves are being stripped as people prepare for another possible lockdown. In some cities, lockdowns are already being instituted. Along with the colder weather, another reason for the predicted uptick in Covid-19 cases is the insistence of some people to hold large Thanksgiving dinners no matter what. A new survey found four in ten Americans plan to have a big Thanksgiving feast. This has health officials concerned. Is there a way to do it safely? And a guy who has raccoons as friends. Inside Edition reports…For the first time ever, more than 150,000 new coronavirus cases were reported in a single day. Health experts say we have to hold on a couple more months for a vaccine…but with the holidays coming up that’s not going to be easy. Thanks to the spike in Covid-19 cases, stricter guidelines go into effect in New York tonight. Most bars and restaurants with liquor licenses must close by 10PM. That’s bad news for businesses already struggling. There’s another wave of Covid-19 cases connected to the White House. And if you’re among those avoiding crowded amusement parks, there is a way to have some thrills…right in your own backyard! Inside Edition reports…It was supposed to be the cruise industry’s big return – sailing in the Caribbean for the first time since the industry was shut down by the pandemic. That ship is returning to port after someone on board tested positive for Covid-19. There was a lot of drama at last night’s CMA Awards…much of it caused by Covid-19. A family went for Covid-19 tests and then got quite a shock when the bill arrived. And do you usually have a 20-pound bird for Thanksgiving? With gatherings scaled back, smaller turkeys are a sign of the times.
