If you've been dreaming of a white Christmas, you may get your wish…and if it's cold you want, that's definitely happening. The Arctic blast meteorologists have been forecasting has hit the Pacific Northwest...and the polar express is headed across the plains to the east. And even before the run on stores from the storm, if you've got a sick child, you've probably already had trouble finding cold medicine. However, as Ann Mercogliano reports…there may be a solution to all those empty shelves. Plus, it's a missing persons case with a lot of troubling questions. 11-year-old Madelina was last seen just before Thanksgiving…but she wasn’t reported missing until last week! Now both her mother and stepfather are facing charges…and no one knows what happened to their little girl. And it was a lifelong dream of a man abandoned as a baby. That one day, he would find his birth family. Fortunately, he's had a long life - because at the age of 90, that dream has now come true.    To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Store parking lots are packed right now with last minute holiday shoppers...and that’s why our first story today comes with a warning. A great grandmother was hit by someone backing out of a parking spot leading to her and her three-year-old great granddaughter being pinned under the car. And chances are you're looking forward to seeing relatives over the holidays…but you might want to rethink your travel plans. A massive Arctic blast is sweeping across the country with all of the lower 48 seeing freezing temperatures. Places haven't been this cold at Christmas in 40 years. The day after Harvey Weinstein was found guilty in California of rape on the claims of one accuser, another one of his accusers, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, is lashing out at the disgraced movie producer's legal team saying they ridiculed her. She’s the wife of the governor of California who says he's proud of her and the other brave women who spoke up. The jury ended up deadlocked on the claims Siebel Newsom made. And it was a festive office Christmas party with co-workers exchanging fun gifts. However, one lady ended up walking away with a surprise that, as Les Trent tells us, turned out to be anything but a white elephant! There's a reason they ask you to keep your seatbelts fastened while on a plane, and the passengers on a Hawaiian Airlines flight are well aware of it. Dozens were injured, eleven seriously, when the plane hit intense turbulence. So what else can you do to protect yourself - especially if you're holding a baby.  Here's Les Trent. And does it seem like everyone you know is sick right now? That's because they probably are, which means keeping healthy will be a real challenge this holiday. Our new reporter Sibila Vargas has some tips on how to do just that. Plus, there will be no Christmas this year for the families of the four slain University of Idaho students - an attorney representing one of them tells us they are just too grief-stricken. Meantime, as Ann Mercogliano reports, new video from the night of the murders shows two of the victims talking about a mystery man named Adam. And more headlines for Tesla founder and Twitter owner Elon Musk. Over the weekend he asked Twitter users if he should step down - 17 million responded, and now the results are in. Meantime, the guy Musk claimed had followed a car carrying his young son is speaking out. He says he's an Uber Eats driver, and is no stalker. 90 million packages are being shipped every day until Christmas...and at postal service hubs they're as busy as Santa's elves! There are lots more packages coming because tomorrow is “Super Saturday”…a massive day for final Christmas shopping. And for the family of Ken DeLand Jr. it must feel like a Christmas miracle. The foreign exchange student who vanished more than two weeks ago in France has now turned-up safe. Plus, it's not quite a needle in a haystack, but police in Idaho are sifting through 22,000 motor vehicle records to find the white Hyundai that may be connected to the murder of four college students. As Ann Mercogliano reports, they believe it could be critical to their investigation. And the Harry and Meghan docuseries is the number one show on Netflix, despite some pretty strong headlines denouncing it. The royal family officially is not commenting on the show. However, Princess Diana's former butler is - and you may be surprised by what he has to say. Inside Edition for Thursday, December 15, 2022

The second half of the Netflix series from Harry and Meghan has dropped and it’s not going to do much to bring the royal family back together. The couple contend their lives were made miserable because other family members were jealous of the attention Meghan was getting as she married into the family. And shock continues over the sudden suicide of Stephen 'tWitch' Boss…the popular DJ who was a fixture on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. He took his own life at a nearby motel…which, as Jim Moret reports, has now been closed. Plus, is it a clue that might help pinpoint when the Idaho roommates were murdered…or just a sign of how desperate people are for information on the case? The latest debate is whether a scream can be heard on police bodycam footage from the night of the murder. Ann Mercogliano spoke with an audio expert to find out what he hears on the tape. And we've told you about the 11-year-old boy who testified at the trial of a cop charged with murdering his aunt while responding to a call of a suspected robbery. Now the verdict is in. It wasn't foul play. That’s what the widow of reporter Grant Wahl is saying today about her husband's sudden death while covering the World Cup. She's a doctor and says the coroner’s report revealed he died of an aortic aneurysm and nothing could have saved him. Might there have been warning signs? And could a gas station clerk's intuition help crack the case of the four murdered University of Idaho students? One month after the crime, she says she had a feeling to check the surveillance cameras where she worked...and sure enough there was a white Hyundai just like the one investigators had been looking for. It was 10 years ago today that twenty first-graders and six adults were slaughtered by a gunman with an AR-15 style rifle at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. On this somber anniversary, we're taking a look back at how we covered one of the worst school shootings in U.S. history. And Ellen DeGeneres is paying tribute to the former DJ and executive producer from her TV show who took his life in a hotel room at the age of 40.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Brazen robberies continue across the country…now a popular sushi restaurant has been targeted and the whole incident was caught not on one camera…but 14, yes 14 surveillance cameras placed around the restaurant. And it's now been one month to the day since the murder of those four University of Idaho students - and still no arrest. This is only fueling citizen sleuths trying to solve the case on their own. However, as Les Trent reports, are they helping or hurting the official investigation? Plus, the grandmother we told you about whose car slid off the road leaving her trapped inside her vehicle. A good Samaritan stopped to help, but the humble hero left before the granny could say thank you. All she wanted to do was give him a hug - now she's getting her chance. And Elizabeth Taylor died eleven years ago of congestive heart failure. However, interest in the screen legend goes on. Now a new book reveals never-before-seen love letters she wrote to her many husbands. As families prepare to gather for the holidays, there may be an uninvited guest at some celebrations. With the so called “Tripledemic” of flu, RSV and Covid going strong, the CDC reporting today that nearly 10% of counties in the US are recommending you wear a mask indoors. As Ann Mercogliano reports, in some places hospitalizations are at their worst in a decade - and that's before people return from the World Cup, which some fear will be a superspreader event. And a very happy appearance on The Today Show this morning as Al Roker was back on the air after spending a month in the hospital. He joined the show remotely, just for a bit. After all the health challenges he's faced, it was great to see him. Plus, the family of an American college student studying abroad in France is frantic today - their son has not been in contact with them for more than two weeks, and none of his credit cards have been used since December 3rd. As Les Trent reports, they're hoping media attention will help them find out what's happened. And it's the first thing you learn when you start to scuba dive - always launch a dive buoy where you make your descent. This guy admits he didn't... and it nearly cost him his life.
