Welcome to Episode 10 Highlights Show of the Trail Running Ireland Podcast. The show is hosted by Eoin Flynn, UTMB Finish Line Race Announcer and 10 times Irish International Mountain Runner.


For our feature interview in episode 10, we spoke with 39 times IMRA race winner Barry Minnock who has also racked up numerous road wins along with some spectacular marathon times. Barry has gone through a tough injury period but has found form again back on the mountains.

Barry talked about:

· His recent comeback run to qualify for the Irish Mountain Running team at the age of 45.

· How he has had to dedicate a lot of time and patience to getting his legs fit to run again

· A golden period on the roads with 2 National Marathon podiums in the Dublin Marathon and a 2hr17m marathon PB

· The background to his 39 IMRA wins and some great tips for those coming from other sports to the mountains

· His future racing plans and how he will have to manage carefully his comeback
