12/2: The UK approves a coronavirus vaccine while the U.S. records its second-deadliest day since the pandemic began.

The United Kingdom has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. They say they're satisfied the vaccine has met 'strict standards of safety.' In the U.S., we've just recorded the second-highest single-day death toll since the pandemic began as nearly 2,600 people lost their lives. We're also seeing progress this morning toward a CDC recommendation on who should get a vaccine first once it's approved. We're joined by Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of Brown University's school of public health. We have startling new information about alleged bribery in exchange for a presidential pardon. Washington D.C.'s top federal trial judge says the DOJ is investigating. President-elect Joe Biden is urging Congress to pass a new COVID relief bill. Congress is under new pressure to approve additional aid before the end of the year.
