Wisdom As You Age

Wisdom As You Age

I have always believed that one of the reasons I am still alive despite illnesses that were supposed to shorten my life, is because of my attitude and the way I look at the world. It is so easy in today's society to get all caught up in the day-to-day negative emotions that are a result of the ever-changing world and our discomfort and inability to change with it.

I found a few items on the internet that are in keeping with my philosophy and way-of-life. I wanted to share some of these with you today, and comment on how a few have affected my mindset and quest for life.

The Podcast has moved to a new home! Effective with this episode is the launch of the next phase of An Older Gay Guy Show Podcast. I am hoping that the majority of you who are Subscribed to the show have had your Subscription moved over along with the episodes. But, there may be some of you who will need to re-subscribe to the show. I apologize if that is the case.

Additionally, I want to introduce you to the NEW Blog and Podcast/YouTube page that has been started to go along with the movement of the show:

AnOlderGayGuyShow.com

The above link is to the new home of the show. This will be where you can find all the information regarding An Older Gay Guy Show Podcast & YouTube content.

Here you will find the various Blog entries (several times per week), LGBTQ+ community information and articles, Photos (currently there is an entry showing photos from our first Family Christmas Party in our new house), Polls (regarding future content, etc.), info on Upcoming Shows, all my Social Media links, and info on any delays/problems with the shows.

The .com website will be replacing An Older Gay Guy Show's Facebook Page and the Blogger Blog.

Thank you for continuing to follow the shows as I make improvements to how we all interact together.

My best to you,

~Joey

Life Enhancing Habits - Part 1

Life Enhancing Habits - Part 1

This is part 1 of a 2-part series on 10 Habits that can help give you a heathy life as you age. In this first part, I give an overview, some necessary disclaimers and talk in depth about the first 3 Habits. The remaining 7 will be discussed in the final installment of this series, coming in a couple of weeks. The main content of this episode is from a draft that I had back from the first year of this show. It was never used. Due to it being done 6 years ago, the audio is not the best as I was working with my first microphone and studio set-up. I currently use my 3rd set-up for recording new episodes so there are big differences.       Thank you for listening !

INTERVIEW - Matt Mercurio - A Client Of Joey's From 25 Years Ago Speaks Out - Part 1

This is Part 1 of a fun conversation that I had with Matt Mercurio, an ex-client and best friend of mine from 25 years ago. Matt was one of the first clients that I had when I moved my training business into Boston gay gyms. Matt discusses how we met and what it was like having me as his Personal Trainer. We are completely honest in this episode, and maybe I revealed more than I should have. But, I try to be as honest as possible with you guys, and this is an example of that !

Mistakes Are NOT Mistakes

Mistakes Are NOT Mistakes

Sometimes when we get older, especially if we are single and alone, we ruminate on past embarrassing situations or errors that we have made. I wanted to explain my philosophy on how I look at past problems. I talk about how I grew up with a dying mother and how that shaped my life over all these years. I hope this might be some use to you.
