Interview Hildur Guðnadóttir

Hildur Guðnadóttir is an Icelandic composer, cello player and singer who writes music for film, television, video games, theatre, dance and art installations. With her music for the film Joker she has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Bafta Award and the Composer of the Year Award at the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent. She has written music for films such as Joker, Women Talking, Tár, the television series Chernobyl and the videogame Battlefield 2042. Recently she worked on the Hercule Poirot story A Haunting in Venice with director Kenneth Branagh.

In this episode of Composer Talk Hildur talks in depth about her music for A Haunting in Venice and how it was to work with director Kenneth Branagh. She gives us an analysis on how she approached this film musically. Next to that she gives a small hint on Joker: Folie à Deux and we go deeper into her work for the movie Tár.
