The Efficacy of Economic Sanctions On Iran, Cuba & DPRK W/ Rishan Ali

Welcome to Episode 4 of our podcast series where we delve into the complex world of international relations and economics. In this episode, we tackle the highly debated topic of economic sanctions and their efficacy on three prominent nations: Iran, DPRK (North Korea), and Cuba. As high school students, we are passionate about understanding global issues and their implications, and through this podcast, we aim to shed light on the multifaceted dynamics of economic sanctions. Firstly, we examine the historical context and rationale behind the imposition of economic sanctions on these countries. From the Iranian Revolution to the Cuban Missile Crisis and the nuclear ambitions of North Korea, each nation's unique circumstances have led to international sanctions being imposed as a tool of diplomatic pressure and coercion. Our discussion delves into the intended objectives of these sanctions. Do they effectively deter the targeted governments from undesirable behavior, such as human rights violations or nuclear proliferation? Or do they inadvertently harm the civilian populations, exacerbating humanitarian crises and fostering resentment towards the sanctioning nations? We analyze the economic ramifications of sanctions on Iran, DPRK, and Cuba. How do these measures impact trade, investment, and overall economic stability? We explore the strategies employed by these countries to circumvent sanctions, such as black market activities, illicit trade networks, and alliances with alternative trading partners. https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dollar-dialogue/episodes/The-Battle-For-The-Global-Currency-King-Dollar-vs--Yuan-W-Masrur-e2jh934
