2020 NHL Draft Prospects - Sweden/Finland

2020 NHL Draft Prospects - Sweden/Finland

The LA Kings have three picks in the 2nd round and two picks each in the 3rd and 4th round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In the past two drafts, the Kings have selected four players from Sweden (Bjornfot, Fagemo, Lee, Sodergran) and two players from Finland (Kupari, Nousiainen). With 11 picks in the upcoming draft it stands to reason the Kings might add more players from the two hockey powerhouses to their prospect ranks. Jack Jablonski spoke with Sixten Funqvist in Linkoping, Sweden about the Swedish players likely to be available to the Kings in the later rounds of the draft as well as the expectations for Kings players loaned to teams in Sweden's Allsvenskan league. Then Christer Kasurinen rejoins the podcast from Helsinki, Finland to discuss the Finnish prospects most likely to don an LA Kings jersey in the future. The LA Kings have three picks in the 2nd round and two picks each in the 3rd and 4th round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The USNTDP produced a huge crop of draft picks in last years draft and there are some players in the system that could wind up available to be drafted by the Kings in October. Some players may fall to the second round, or the Kings could look to package picks and players and move up to draft a specific prospect. Assistant Director of Player Personnel, Rod Braceful talked to Jack Jablonski about the current challenges facing the National Team Development Program and highlight some options for the Kings come draft time. After the conversation about the USNTDP players we're bringing you a replay of the conversation Zach Dooley and Jesse Cohen had with newly hired Ontario Reign coach John Wroblewski on The Reigny Day Podcast. Player Evaluations: Mikey Anderson & Kurtis MacDermid

Sean O'Donnell (LA Kings) and Sean Tierney (Charting Hockey) join host Jesse Cohen as we continue our series of player evaluations for the 2019-20 LA Kings season. With the NHL calendar finally in place we aim to have all our player evaluations and draft prospect reports done in time for the first round of the NHL Draft so you'll know exactly where the franchise stands heading into what should be a pivotal "offseason". First up this week is Mikey Anderson. Anderson appeared in just 6 games for the Kings last season but is expected to have an increased role in the coming year. The Minnesota native was a 4th round draft pick in the 2017 Entry Draft and scored his first NHL goal during his brief stint with the Kings. He spent the bulk of 2019-20 in Ontario where he scored 15 points in 53 games with the Reign. Defensive depth is the theme of this weeks evaluations and Kurtis MacDermid is the next player to be evaluated. The 6'5 defender signed a contract extension in the offseason after appearing in 45 games with the Kings during the 2019-20 season. Never miss an episode by subscribing today at LAKings.com/podcast.
