The Great Playoff Debate: Round 3 (Barry Melros, Jim Fox & Nick Nickson)
This is the third episode of our Great Playoff Debate! Former Kings head coach Barry Melrose joins host Jesse Cohen to discuss the 1993 Campbell Conference Finals between the LA Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs. The series went the distance and featured hat tricks from both captains with Wayne Gretzky scoring his in Game 7 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. For twenty years this series was considered one of the, if not the single, greatest series in Stanley Cup history. However, in 2014, the Kings and Blackhawks battled for seven games in a series so entertaining it eclipsed even the 1993 series. Kings broadcasters Jim Fox and Nick Nickson return to break down the series, the rosters, the coaching and the overall impact on the franchise. It was another Game 7 victory won on the road and another step on the path to the second Stanley Cup victory in Kings history. Never miss an episode by subscribing today at LAKings.com/podcast.
