E128: Liberation Day strikes back? The impact of tariffs on financial crime

President Trump called tariffs “the most beautiful word in the dictionary.”

On a self-declared ‘Liberation Day,’ the US unleashed a wave of new blanket tariffs on nations across the globe. Stock markets plunged worldwide, the administration hit the brakes, and announced a 90-day pause on their new global trade plan.

But the 90-day countdown is almost over and there's no sign of a new favourite word from the White House yet.

Our expert host, Robin Lycka, is joined by Tom Cardamone, President & CEO, Global Financial Integrity to ask: What is the impact of tariffs on financial crime?

The pair discuss: the immediate impact of tariffs, the long-term effects of dark money movement, and why trade wars matter in the real world!
