Being Fully Present Just Might Be The Key to Real Happiness. With Tracy Cochran

"Settle in. Put your head on a soft pillow. And listen to the wisdom of every word here..."

Untangle Listener

Today’s interview is with the beautiful Tracy Cochran, a wonderful writer and meditation teacher. She is the author of Presence: The Art of Being at Home in Yourself. This idea of being at home with yourself came alive for me in this interview.

Tracy has a condition called Essential Tremor. You’ll notice very quickly that her voice shakes. That’s the tremor that she lives with. It is difficult to understand her at times but I felt that she was so courageous for sharing her story with us. She shares a quote from Agnes Martin…”your path is at your feet whether you notice it or not.’ Tracy believes that our own life is ultimately our spiritual practice. It doesn't exist outside on a mountaintop or with a special being to bestow it on us. It's something that opens up as we live through the challenges and adventures of our own life. So that is the spirit that she brought to this book, but also to this condition that she now lives with. Being fully present, she believes, is the key to real happiness…body heart and mind, and is key to living an authentic life.

She says that people have told her they listen more intently to her because it’s more difficult to hear her words sometimes.

I thought this was a beautiful way to approach this. I hope you take the time to hear her.
