“Justice Denied”: Coffindaffer Slams Shocking Plea Deal in Meline Sto Case

Outrage is growing in Florida after convicted child killer Stephan Sterns accepted a surprise plea deal in the case of 12-year-old Meline Sto — sparing himself a full public trial despite overwhelming evidence of abuse and murder.

Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer breaks down what happened inside the courtroom and why she believes this “sneaky plea” robbed Meline of true justice.

According to investigators, Sterns exploited and abused Meline for years, beginning when she was just 11. Disturbing videos and photos recovered from his phone documented the abuse, while forensic and surveillance evidence tied him to her murder. Authorities say Meline was strangled at night, her body later staged in a car to make it appear she had been dropped off at school.

Despite what Coffindaffer calls an “airtight case,” prosecutors allowed Sterns to plead nolo contendere — meaning he didn’t even admit guilt. He was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, but avoided facing witnesses, testimony, and evidence in a jury trial.

Coffindaffer doesn’t hold back:

She calls Sterns’ final courtroom words — “I’m going to miss her… I’ll never disgrace her memory” — grotesque and insulting.
She blasts prosecutors for merging the murder charge into the plea instead of trying the case.
And she highlights the disturbing absence of Meline’s mother, who allowed years of abuse and failed to speak for her daughter in court.
