Is it really possible to ban phones at gigs?

Ghost banned phones for their most recent tour, in this episode I debate whether this is practical or possible for smaller bands or only a 'privilege' for bands right at the top? playing in huge venues who have the facility, is it possible in a smaller venue and do newer smaller bands even want it....as maybe they need the free promo....why do we feel the need to document every moment of our lives without living in the moment? I get into the whys and wherefores on this one and why doesn't Tobias return my texts anymore? this and loads of other random nonsense.....
