How to Heal from Your Grief with God ┃Featuring Marie Diver ┃Episode 16

Join your host, Seirra, and her guest Marie Diver as they discuss their journeys on how they each healed from their grief of major losses in their life. Marie shares the process of how she relearned to trust God after the loss of her best friend Ethen from a tragic motorcycle accident and Seirra shares her process of healing from the loss of her grandma on her wedding day. Each have different experiences and ways that they healed, and both are hoping that their experiences can help the listeners heal from their own grief that they have experienced through their own lives.

If you're struggling in your grief here are a few tips that could help you to heal:

1. Find a community that you can trust.

2. Find your faith and lean on God.

3. Know that grief is a messy process. There is no one size fits all. It's a scribble line.

4. Have patience for others who are trying to be there for you, but don't know how to respond.

5. Know its okay to not be okay.

6. Finding a grief group.

7. Read books about grief and surround yourself in God's word.

Find what works for you when it comes to healing from your grief. A big way that Marie healed from her own grief was talking with her therapist and her therapist gave her two major tips that allowed her to heal:

1. Your grief is like a button in a box with a ball. When you first lose someone, your ball is very large so it'll bounce off that box and hit that small button often. As time goes on and you start to heal from that grief your ball will grow smaller but even if your ball is small, it will still hit that button at times.

2. All the little things will add up. You might feel fine but as you get reminded of the person you lost it will be a little reminder and those little reminders will add up and cause you to explode. Give yourself time and patients to heal.

Healing from this will take time but the most important thing to do is lean on God and trust Him still. He doesn't make everything happen, but He can use any situation. Grow closer to God and allow Him to use this sad situation for good.
