Flexibility and Resilience with Sashee Chandran

Sashee Chandran didn’t start out as an entrepreneur. She started out as the daughter of Chinese and Sri Lankan immigrants and grew up steeped in tea culture. She went on to work for Ebay, but when her side hustle of selling loose leaf tea began to take off she made the decision to leave her job and pursue it full time. She had no experience in entrepreneurship, but, like the other obstacles that came her way, this didn’t stop her from pioneering Tea Drops, a company specializing in teabag-free, delicious loose leaf tea. Today, she tells me about her journey. She speaks about the need to pursue what you love and to know what you need to delegate. She talks about resilience and preparation for failure, and how it’s okay to figure things out as you go. She shares lessons she’s learned from experience rather than from the books, such as the idea that sometimes band-aid solutions are okay. She notes the importance of self-care and the fact that we’re not machines.
