80. PAUL MAJOR REVEALS THE FULL STORY BEHIND DENNIS THE FOX’S “MOTHER TRUCKER” LP (1972) (DISCOGRAFFITI'S THE PRIVATE PRESS SERIES)

The Private Press is the coveted jewel of our Patreon experience, but in the spirit of giving here’s an absolutely free primo sample! The tale of Dennis The Fox is a wild one, and serves as a bizarro world, subterranean parallel to the successfully orchestrated David Bowie/Tony DeFries starmaking machine. The main difference? Dennis’s machine didn’t launch a thing. Recorded in a vacated menswear shop, “Mother Trucker” went nowhere fast. However, as we all know by this point, that doesn’t mean it ain’t a stone-cold masterpiece of the first order. Don’t miss the series that’s soon to be a tv show in 2023…say you knew it when! Sign up for the Major Tier on our Patreon page to get The Private Press every Tuesday and keep abreast of the tv series launch! This is an entirely listener-supported show, so please consider giving it a shot—hear for yourself why this is truly the ultimate music deep dive. Next Week: An Interview With IRA STONE, WOODSTOCK ’69 PERFORMER and Bert Sommer/Leslie West accompanist!
