The real Mitford Sisters - Pam 1

In today's episode, we’re turning our attention to the unsung hero of the Mitford clan: the ever-enigmatic Pamela Mitford. This one and the next episode are dedicated to "the rural Mitford," and we’re pulling back the curtain on the quiet life of the sister who famously preferred farm animals to fascist rallies.

Join us as we explore Pam’s unconventional employment as a farm manager to her equally unconventional car trips across Europe. We'll uncover her passions, her skills (did someone say gourmet cooking?), and the men who fell for her understated charm, including a certain famous poet who proposed to her twice!

This episode is all about the private life behind the quiet woman. It's the story of a woman who was a countryside connoisseur, a secret globetrotter, and a quiet force in a very loud family. Perfect for anyone who loves British history, period drama, or just a good old-fashioned story of love, farms, and unlikely adventures.
